The 2018-19 BC Men’s and Women’s Curling Tours kicked off last weekend with the King Cashspiel, which was hosted by Golden Ears Winter Club in Maple Ridge.

Both of the winning teams started off the event with a loss, but won all of their remaining games to claim first place.

Corryn Brown’s team of Erin Pincott, Dezaray Hawes and Ashley Klymchuk also scored six points in the Women’s final, taking the win over Diane Gushulak’s team of Grace MacInnes, Jessie Sanderson and Ashley Sanderson with a score of 6-4.

“It was great to be able to kick off the BC Tour at Golden Ears Winter Club,” said Golden Ears Winter Club Assistant Manager Shannon Joanisse. “The teams were given the opportunity to play multiple games with the format we set out and we know that is appreciated early in the season to help dust off the cobwebs. All in all, we were very pleased with how the event went.”

Scores from the Men’s event can be found here and scores from the Women’s event can be found here. Standings updates will be made available soon.

The next BC Men’s and Women’s Curling Tours event is the Prestige Hotels and Resorts Classic at Vernon Curling Club from September 27 to 30.
